What is the quickest way to get from Osaka to Kyoto and how long will it take?

We arrive in Osaka on a Sunday evening and we depart the following day at 6pm - we would like to see Kyoto in that time frame. What do you recommend? We will have to be back at the Osaka Airport by 3:15pm as our flight leaves at 5:30pm
