Usps delivery question?

i bought something from ebay and it was shipped on the 5th and the shipper told me on the phone it would be 2-3 days to get to me and i live in central illinois. I keep put in the tracking number and it says The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on January 5, 2009 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.... and i keep getting people telling me that they never shipped it but i got and email that says it was shipped and i called the place to and they also said it was shipped and now i am getting worried because i dont know what to believe.......do you think it will get here... and how long will it take the shipper said it was shipped by priority mail
