How do you deal with bullies?

It's best you go to the school as the parent and explain the situation with the guidance counselor or principal. Your presence will make them the see the problem as a serious matter. Many teachers don't want to put themselves in a position of handling bullying. They think that their input won't bring out a desired result. The teacher may have not even witnessed the bullying. Give the name of the bully to the principal, so he would know how to deal with him and that his parents be warned of their sons behavior. Tell the principal that your son was not given the proper remedy to deal with this seriousness problem. Nobody choose to help him and his only choice was to act out in a improper manner. He had to defend himself. The only remedy and solution to dealing with bullies is avoidance. Worst comes to worst, he should change schools or be home schooled. ( not to give the impression that your son is not smart). From my experience, when I avoid someone who I feel is a threat to my emotional well-being, I feel a sense of safety and ease. Always remember that bullies suffer from a great sense of insecurity and weakness. Bullies always want to make themselves feel superior to anyone they sense as incapable.
